LEA amplification solution improves the flexibility and performance of the AV system

Located in the center of the Czech city of Jablonec nad Nisou, the historic municipal theatre stands as one of its most treasured cultural landmarks. Opened in 1907, the building reflects the elegance of early 20th-century Art Nouveau design and has served as a gathering place for the performing arts for more than a century.

Although the venue does not have a resident company, each season it hosts more than 200 visiting performances spanning drama, opera, ballet, concerts, and children’s productions. Renowned Czech companies and touring artists regularly perform here, ensuring a diverse and dynamic cultural program.

Beyond its programming, the theatre itself is part of the experience. The interior preserves an exceptional array of original Art Nouveau decorative elements, from lighting fixtures to ornamental details, creating an atmosphere that transports audiences to another era.

When some of the existing audiovisual systems began to fail, the theatre staff contacted Matěj Sborový, project manager at AudioMaster CZ, to design and implement a comprehensive AV solution to improve the venue’s operational efficiency and entertainment capabilities. AudioMaster, in turn, partnered with Michal Blazek Profisound to carry out the installation.

The theatre has a fairly extensive audio system. However, almost everything in the old system needed to be replaced. LEA amplifiers were my first choice to ensure exceptional audio quality, said Sborový.

Sborový selected Connect Series 702D and Connect Series 354D amplifiers to power the theatre’s loudspeakers. The IoT-enabled 2-channel 702D delivers 700 watts per channel, while the 4-channel 354D provides 350 watts per channel. Both models support Hi-Z (70V or 100V) and Lo-Z, selectable per channel, eliminating the need for separate amplifiers for different speaker impedances, simplifying installations and reducing equipment costs. Connect Series amplifiers also include 96 kHz DSP as standard across all models and offer a range of benefits that enhance audio performance and system versatility. Dante-enabled models such as the 702D and 354D include 96 kHz-capable Dante and AES67 connectivity, simplifying installation through scalable, high-resolution audio over IP (AoIP).

The Connect Series delivers the industry’s first professional amplifier family with cloud connectivity, a revolutionary advancement and a significant benefit for those maintaining these systems. With LEA Cloud, AV teams can remotely control and monitor the amplifiers regardless of location or time of day, and with no subscription model or hidden costs, it is free to use.

“The LEA Cloud service is a tremendous benefit for both me and the theatre. Being able to log in from anywhere to troubleshoot issues or make necessary adjustments is a game-changer”, said Sborový. “There is very little I cannot access remotely, which ultimately saves my clients money because I do not need to dispatch a local technician or travel to the site”.

The Jablonec nad Nisou Municipal Theatre has a full calendar of upcoming events. Thanks to the audio upgrades, every seat in the theatre now offers an outstanding experience, and visiting companies have praised the clarity and beauty of the sound.

LEA amplifiers simply work. The state-of-the-art connectivity and pristine sound make these amplifiers essential for the theatre. I have been impressed with every aspect of LEA, concluded Sborový.
