The Barstool Scottsdale Sports Bar, located in Scottsdale, Arizona, has installed a configuration of systems from the ARTEC, OVI and VANTEC series to adapt to the venue’s different environments.
During the day, the space operates as a sports bar where guests can watch live sports broadcasts, while at night it transforms into a lively venue with DJ sessions, live performances and a party atmosphere.
The project was developed by Sal Accardi, founder and system designer at Accardi Designs, who identified from the outset the potential of the space to combine both functions.
It was basically a sports bar, but when I saw the space I thought it could also work as a nightclub, so I decided to add subwoofers because it was clear they would eventually bring in DJs.
The installation combines different models from the ARTEC, OVI and VANTEC series, strategically distributed throughout the venue to ensure uniform coverage across all areas and to meet the different uses of the space. Notably, ARTEC-510 systems are installed in bar areas, VIP zones and near the DJ booth, where they also serve as monitors.
“We chose the ARTEC-510 because it is very versatile. It can deliver high output when needed, but also maintains excellent quality at lower levels. In addition, its mounting bracket allows it to be installed on the ceiling and blend into the space”, explains Accardi.
The stage features a main system based on the VANTEC series, consisting of 4 VANTEC-20A units flown from the ceiling in a 2-per-side line array configuration, providing uniform and precise coverage in the front area for live performances and DJ sets.
Above the main dance floor, OVI-12 systems were installed to deliver the primary sound during sports broadcasts and the venue’s higher-energy moments.
The OVI-12s are above the dance floor and are used when Barstool wants powerful sound during sports broadcasts. And when halftime comes, we can activate the subwoofers and turn the space into a full-on party. Then we switch back to the game audio simply by changing the configuration.
Accardi also highlights his relationship with DAS AUDIO after several years of using its systems across different projects.
