Panasonic Connect launches the latest software update for its advanced live video production platform, KAIROS. Version 1.8 of the software includes multi-server control functionality, integration with live graphics platforms, and support for a greater number and variety of advanced IP resolutions.
Enhancing efficiency in large-scale productions
Previously, multiple control panels were required to operate multiple KAIROS servers. With the new Multiple Core Control functionality, it is now possible to manage two KAIROS servers from a single control panel. This allows handling more video sources, increasing efficiency, especially in large-scale events.
Version 1.8 also extends internal processing up to 4:4:4 at 16-bit and outputs up to 4:4:4 at 12-bit. Additionally, it supports a broader and more diverse range of IP-based inputs and outputs using the ST 2110 standard with high resolutions such as 16:9, 16:10, 5:4, and DCI (2K/4K). These resolutions can easily adapt to images of any size, making them particularly useful when working with large displays such as LED screens.
Greater integration with KAIROS Alliance Partners
The update includes support for HTML5, allowing graphics generated by KAIROS Alliance Partners to be directly integrated into the platform. This facilitates the use of graphics such as scoreboards, statistics, and KAIROS Painter labels, eliminating the need to convert files before importing them.
Additionally, version 1.8 improves compatibility with other products from KAIROS Alliance Partners, such as SKAARHOJ’s audio-controlled Wave Board, Quick Shot Pro, Quick Shot, and the Raw Panel mode.
We developed version 1.8 to ensure that KAIROS remains easy to use while providing producers with the flexibility needed to create high-quality content in multiple locations. New firmware for live switchers improves flexibility
Panasonic has also announced version 3.0 of the firmware for its compact AV-HSW10 switcher, which, for the first time, includes NDI®* High Bandwidth mode [Firmware for each mode must be selected and rewritten using a USB memory device. Switching from Normal mode to NDI HB mode requires rewriting the firmware and restarting the device each time]. This update doubles the input capacity, simplifying the integration of NDI®-centric systems when working with PTZ cameras and other compatible devices.
The technology company will also release version 1.7 of the firmware for its AV-UHS500 switcher, enhancing its functionality and usability, especially when integrating PTZ cameras with other brand products.
