GLP has added an important new member to its impression X5 series: impression X5 Dot Wash. This is the most compact fixture in the line to date, bringing the colour quality, consistency and system logic of the X5 platform into an ultra-compact format, barely larger than a classic MR16 birdie.
And it does so while maintaining complete colour harmony with the rest of the series.
The X5 Dot Wash has been designed for applications where powerful, high-quality lighting is required in confined spaces. Whether used as a floor light in theatre productions, integrated into scenery and props, in television studios or in architectural detail lighting, this fixture fills a gap for which no convincing LED solution has previously existed.
Its IP65 rating extends its use from conventional indoor environments to outdoor applications, both temporary and permanent.
At its core is a 40-watt RGBL LED engine derived from the X5 family, operating at up to 20 watts and delivering a luminous output of up to 550 lumens at 6,500 Kelvin. Weighing approximately 580 grams and fanless, the fixture is lightweight and silent in operation. It runs on a 24–48 V DC power supply and requires no dedicated external drivers or additional hardware. Control is available via DMX/RDM or wirelessly through GLP iQ.Mesh.
The X5 Dot Wash excels in areas where small fixtures have historically required compromises. The combination of the RGBL LED engine and GLP’s iQ.Gamut colour algorithm delivers precise colour mixing, consistent white points and finely graded pastel tones. Sixteen-bit colour control enables smooth transitions and clean dimming curves, a key feature in theatre applications where any irregularity in fades is immediately noticeable.

A technically noteworthy feature with real practical value is the integrated twist-zoom mechanism. By rotating the front lens, the beam angle can be manually adjusted from 16° to 68° without altering the physical dimensions of the fixture. This provides a clear advantage in installations with limited space, such as scenery, props or architectural applications. Luminous flux remains largely stable across the zoom range, avoiding the typical output losses of conventional miniaturised optics.
The Colour Boost function provides additional output when producing deep, saturated colours, allowing the X5 Dot Wash to achieve high intensity in bold hues, ideal for accent lighting, atmospheres or targeted close-range effects.
The fixture has been designed with practical deployment needs in mind. It features integrated ¼” and ⅜” threaded sockets, an adjustable foot and a bracket for hanging installation, offering maximum mounting flexibility. An optional adapter allows the use of classic birdie accessories such as barn doors.
With the impression X5 Dot Wash, GLP opens the X5 platform in a new direction. For the first time, the colour quality and consistency of the X5 family are available in a static fixture, ensuring uniformity in colours, white points and overall appearance across the entire series. The X5 Dot Wash works equally well as a standalone unit or as a discreet building block within larger lighting systems.
