Pathé Ede, the largest cinema in the Netherlands, has been successfully transformed into a premium event venue capable of hosting everything from corporate presentations to large-scale conferences for up to 1,000 guests.
To make this ambitious venue more flexible, adaptable, and visually engaging, Pathé Ede worked closely with its facilities department and Peter Bottema Techniek, resulting in a future-ready event solution built around smart lighting, stage infrastructure, and atmospheric effects.

Pathé Ede is one of several Pathé cinemas where Infinity and Showtec fixtures have been deployed to help transform movie theaters into event venues whenever films are not being screened. At Pathé Ede, the space is extensively used for business events, ranging from presentations to large corporate gatherings and public sector events.
A key element of this transformation is the lighting system. Rather than opting for a fixed solution, Pathé Ede selected equipment that delivers the ideal balance of performance, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness. Different fixture types can be selected depending on the required setup. The lighting package includes Infinity's Raccoon P14/4, Raccoon Junior P7/4, and iW-741 RDM fixtures, alongside Showtec's Titan Strobe 1000 FX, Illumisphere 30, and Phantom 130 Spot. This combination provides the venue with versatile lighting solutions capable of creating the perfect atmosphere for any event. The Showtec LAMPY DMX lighting controller, responsible for managing all fixtures, was chosen for its intuitive interface and ease of operation.

Lighting alone is not enough. Atmosphere also plays a crucial role in the overall guest experience. To enhance light beams, lighting accents, and stage effects, Pathé Ede uses the Antari Z-350 Pro Fazer to generate a fine, even haze, together with the Antari AF-3E DMX Effect Fan to create controlled airflow. This combination ensures that light beams remain clearly visible without overwhelming the space, even during extended corporate events.
One of the venue's most significant upgrades is found not above the audience, but around them. To make the large auditorium feel more intimate for smaller audiences, Wentex Pipe & Drape curtains are used. Up to 35 metres of draping can be installed quickly and easily, allowing Pathé Ede to reduce the seating capacity from 1,000 seats to just a few hundred without compromising the audience experience. In addition, as a unique feature of Pathé Ede, almost all seats can be suspended from the ceiling whenever a larger open floor area is required.
