Celestion presents key audio products at Prolight + Sound Guangzhou. Highlighted is their flagship high-performance subwoofer, the 24-inch diameter TSQ2460. Also on display are two production models from the UK-built Ten Squared (TSQ) range with neodymium magnets: the TSQ1845 and the TSQ2145.
Also showcased is the versatile, high-performance ferrite-magnet PowerProX18 subwoofer, the new 1.4-inch exit compression drivers (including the upcoming CDX14-3035), and the forthcoming CNX0820 coaxial driver with neodymium magnet and integrated constant directivity horn.
TSQ2460
The 24-inch low-frequency TSQ2460 subwoofer, featuring an aluminum chassis and neodymium magnet, is meticulously engineered for high-power subwoofer applications such as paraflex and folded-horn enclosures, as well as bass-reflex systems.
The groundbreaking TSQ range emerges from a specialized development program at Celestion’s UK R&D center, incorporating Ten Squared technology. It brings multiple design enhancements that together set a new standard in LF driver performance and durability. TSQ transducers are assembled on a state-of-the-art robotic production line at Celestion’s UK factory, reflecting the company’s 100 years of speaker engineering experience and its latest innovations. Designed without compromise, TSQ drivers deliver consistently superior performance in the most demanding sound reinforcement applications, even after hundreds of hours of use.
The TSQ2460 achieves an impressive nominal power rating of 2500 W (AES standard) / 5000 W (continuous) thanks to the Precision Tuned Venting (PTV) system and a voice coil with heat-resistant adhesives. The cooling benefit can reduce temperatures by up to –80 °C compared to conventional designs.
The reconfigured magnet assembly allows for much greater cone excursion and an exceptionally high Xprotection level. The driver’s motor strength and mechanical compliance reach their defined Xprotection limit almost simultaneously, resulting in low distortion even at high excursions. This is complemented by Ten Squared’s unique polysiloxane-laminated dual suspension, which maintains stiffness under stress, improves coil control, reduces DC shift, and extends speaker longevity.
The Ten Squared range also includes the 21-inch TSQ2145 and the 18-inch TSQ1845, both optimized for subwoofer applications.
PowerProX18
The 18-inch ferrite-magnet PowerProX18 subwoofer delivers a relentless high-quality performance, ideal for cinema sound, fixed installations, and touring sound reinforcement.
It features an advanced cooling design for ferrite magnet assemblies, allowing its voice coil to run significantly cooler than competing drivers. This reduces thermal stress on the coil former and heat-sensitive parts, and minimizes the rise in voice coil resistance (Re) that causes power compression. By operating at lower temperatures, the PowerProX18 maintains optimal performance from day one throughout its lifespan.
With a nominal impedance of 8 Ω, its power rating is 1200 W (AES standard) / 2400 W (continuous). Sensitivity, measured at 1 W/1 m in 2π space, is 97 dB. The motor force (Bl) curve exhibits remarkable symmetry, and the polysiloxane-laminated dual suspension provides excellent stability and cone displacement symmetry, resulting in notably reduced distortion.
The PowerProX18 is designed for long-lasting high performance and maximum reliability over its entire life, outperforming other 18-inch subwoofers in its class, making it ideal for demanding sound reinforcement and cinema applications.
CDX14-3035
The new 1.4-inch ferrite-magnet CDX14-3035 compression driver is an upgraded version of the CDX14-3030 model. With a single-piece titanium diaphragm, it offers identical performance to the CDX14-3045 but uses a ferrite magnet for cost-sensitive applications where weight and size are less critical.
This high-quality HF solution features a power handling capability of 120 W nominal (AES standard) / 240 W (continuous), a sensitivity of 108 dB, and a lower crossover point of 800 Hz (12 dB/oct). It also includes a 75 mm edge-wound copper-clad aluminum voice coil, a 35 mm exit, and an enhanced surround shape for greater linearity, along with a high-temperature polymer clamp ring to reduce distortion.
The upcoming neodymium-magnet HF drivers, the 1.4-inch exit CDX14-3045 and CDX14-3055, will also be on display.
CNX0820
In its final prototype stage, the CNX0820 is the first member of a new family of Celestion coaxial drivers, scheduled to launch in late 2025.
It features dual copper-clad aluminum voice coils—2 inches (LF) and 1.75 inches (HF)—both driven by a common neodymium magnet. Its integrated constant directivity horn offers 50° dispersion. It also includes twin demodulation rings to reduce harmonic distortion and a field-repairable polyimide HF diaphragm.
With a power handling of 250 W nominal (AES standard) / 500 W (continuous) and a sensitivity of 95 dB, it is ideal for compact and discreet sound reinforcement applications, such as architectural installations in small spaces.
