Celestion has appointed Torben Müller as Business Development Manager, a move aimed at strengthening the British manufacturer’s relationships with distributors, OEM manufacturers and commercial partners.
In his new role, Müller will focus on identifying new business opportunities and supporting part of Celestion’s international distribution network, while also working with a number of OEM manufacturers that integrate the company’s components into their own products.
For distributors and manufacturers, the appointment brings direct experience in both product and sales channels, particularly across European markets.
Müller joins Celestion from Tube Amp Doctor (TAD), a company specialising in valves and components for guitar amplification and a Celestion distributor in Germany. During more than ten years with the company, he held roles in sales and promotion, gaining first-hand knowledge of both Celestion’s product portfolio and the requirements of manufacturers, distributors and professional users.
Before entering the music technology industry, Müller completed a Master’s degree in Musicology and English and worked as a music teacher. His professional experience is complemented by his background as a musician: he began studying classical piano at the age of six before later moving to electric guitar, and has been a member of a band since 1996 that remains active today.
Celestion considers this combination of commercial experience, product knowledge and practical musical expertise particularly relevant to his new responsibilities.
Andy Farrow, Global Sales Director at Celestion, says the appointment will help strengthen support for partners and customers, particularly in Europe, drawing on Müller’s knowledge of the musical instrument and professional audio markets.
Müller, meanwhile, says one of his objectives will be to work directly with distributors, partners and manufacturers to continue developing the company’s presence and bring its technological developments to new applications.
The appointment comes as Celestion continues to operate in both the loudspeaker and compression driver market for professional sound systems and the market for components used in guitar amplification, two areas in which the relationship between manufacturers, OEMs and distribution networks plays a particularly important role in bringing new products to market.
