PANTHER system with 2100-LFC cardioid arrays at Montreux Jazz Miami

The Montreux Jazz Festival Miami returned for its third edition from February 25 to March 1, 2026, expanding its program to five nights across two venues, with Meyer Sound as the official sound partner, once again providing the sonic foundation for the event.

Following a sold-out 2025 edition, the festival—led by co-founders Jeremy Arditi, Adam Fell, and Thomas Duport, together with director Sig Greenebaum—expanded its presence across the city while maintaining its intimate scale.

The main weekend program returned to The Hangar at Regatta Harbour in Coconut Grove, where the historic waterfront venue once again served as the event’s anchor. Two additional nights at the Miami Beach Bandshell—equipped with a permanent Meyer Sound LINA system—introduced a second stage, extending the festival’s presence beyond a single neighborhood and reinforcing its growing cultural relevance in South Florida.

At The Hangar, a 1,860-square-metre space with corrugated metal walls, concrete flooring, and large windows, Pete Diaz Productions once again deployed a Meyer Sound system featuring six PANTHER™ large-format line array loudspeakers per side, along with two cardioid arrays of three 2100-LFC™ low-frequency control elements delivering powerful and controlled bass.

ULTRA-X40™ loudspeakers were used as front fills, LEOPARD® together with 900-LFC™ units as side fills, and ULTRA-X80™ supported the VIP areas. The system was designed using Meyer Sound’s MAPP 3D™ prediction and system design tool.

Given the acoustically challenging nature of the venue, the production team maintained the same system architecture as in previous editions.

Due to last year’s success, there weren’t many necessary changes. We are essentially reusing the same MAPP 3D file. It worked, explains Peter Diaz, owner of Pete Diaz Productions, responsible for the festival’s sound since its inception.

The metal walls and large windows required careful acoustic management; the strategic use of draping, low-frequency control, and precise delay placement ensured consistent coverage throughout the 1,500-capacity space.

The 2026 lineup stood out for its diversity of genres, from the Miles Davis centennial celebration at the Miami Beach Bandshell to a New Orleans-inspired opening night with Trombone Shorty and Jon Batiste at The Hangar, as well as performances by Nile Rodgers & Chic, Toto, Bomba Estéreo, and more. From intimate jazz to high-energy funk, Latin, and pop, the variety of artists highlighted the versatility of the Meyer Sound systems across both venues.

For Diaz, whose company has been working with Meyer Sound for over 30 years, one moment carried special meaning: “Our company was founded by my father, who was a disco DJ. Having Nile Rodgers on this stage feels like a full-circle moment”.

With an expanded presence across the city and a consolidated technical foundation, the Montreux Jazz Festival Miami entered its third edition as an established cultural event. As Montreux Jazz celebrates 60 years in Switzerland and four decades of collaboration with Meyer Sound, the Miami edition stands as an example of a partnership defined by a shared pursuit of uncompromising sound.

What excites me most is that we are building a meaningful new live music experience and tradition in Miami. With Meyer Sound as our partner, we can grow thoughtfully while maintaining the sonic integrity that defines Montreux, says Greenebaum.
