Power, design, and acoustic precision in an exclusive car showroom

A new audio installation at an exclusive private car condo in Austin, Texas, combines performance, design, and atmosphere through a system designed and integrated by Keystone Digital.

The space, which blends a showroom-style environment with an elevated mezzanine level, required a system capable of delivering consistent coverage, strong low-frequency support, and a dynamic listening experience throughout the venue.

From the beginning, the goal was to create a system that felt as good as it sounded: something impactful, yet still comfortable to spend extended periods of time in. The team needed to design a solution suitable for both background music and interactive events and parties.

The system combines Level L38 loudspeakers with Contour CT28 point sources to provide consistent, full-range coverage across the main floor and mezzanine. Cannon C6 loudspeakers were used as fill speakers in the mezzanine and surrounding areas, extending coverage while maintaining tonal consistency throughout the venue.

Low-frequency support comes from a combination of SUB310 and SUB10 subwoofers, delivering evenly distributed bass energy throughout the space, with a sense of impact that never feels overpowering.

The system sounds fantastic. I’m very impressed with the SUB310s and the single 10s as well. The bass energy throughout the space felt luxurious everywhere. I was very pleased with the cohesive interaction between the L38s and the CT28s. They complement each other extremely well. The C6s completed the synchronicity, said Garth Helm, sound designer and audio consultant.

Notably, the system required minimal equalization to achieve the desired result. A slight room EQ was applied, largely thanks to the excellent acoustic performance of the installed ceiling treatment. “Only a very slight EQ adjustment was needed due to the excellent acoustic behavior of the SoundPly ceiling installation. I couldn’t praise that product more even if I owned the company, incredible results”, Helm added.

In addition to performance, visual integration also played an important role in the final design. Selected loudspeakers, including the L38s, CT28s, and SUB310s, are being updated with custom red grilles to align with the aesthetic of the space, while other elements remain black to complement the mezzanine design.

The system was showcased during the venue’s opening event, where guests experienced the full impact of the installation. The response was immediate, with very positive feedback from both the client and attendees while DJ Roman performed in the space.

Following the success of this project, additional work is already being considered for a neighboring unit, continuing the collaboration between the client and Keystone Digital.
