Projection pioneer Norxe exhibited for the first time at IAAPA Expo, where it presented its new P20 4K 3DS projector, a solid-state RGB laser projector with native 4K resolution, designed for themed attractions.
Weighing just 22.5 kg, the P20 4K 3DS is the world’s smallest true 6P RGB laser 3D projector. However, its innovation lies not only in its compact size, but in a unique combination of features that has not previously been offered in a single platform.
The implementation of Infitec 6P colour separation, capable of producing striking stereoscopic 3D images with exceptional brightness and colour depth, represents an unprecedented achievement in a compact platform projector, according to the Norwegian manufacturer.
This technology accelerates installation and reduces the cost of 3D environments, as it does not require special components such as silver screens; instead, it can be used with a standard white screen.
Norxe is internationally recognised for its high-quality simulation projectors, built on a strong track record in markets such as simulation, control rooms, visualisation applications and planetariums.
Now in its tenth year, the company brings its innovation and expertise to the visitor attractions sector with the launch of the P20 4K 3DS, which — according to Norxe — sets a new benchmark for dark rides, thanks to an output of 3,800 lumens per eye and certification of up to 3G for motion platforms.
As expected from a manufacturer of high-end 1-Chip DLP projectors, reliability is a given: the system offers up to 50,000 hours of maintenance-free operation, with no colour wheels, no phosphor wheels and no replaceable parts in the optical path, combined with DLP technology to ensure consistent image quality.
The P20 4K 3DS also benefits from a colour space close to REC.2020, enabled by solid-state RGB illumination, delivering colour reproduction previously unseen in 1-Chip DLP projectors and resulting in highly realistic images.
Rec. 2020 provides more than twice the colour gamut of Rec. 709 and 41% more than DCI-P3, ensuring that venues can reproduce real-world colours with greater accuracy, without on-screen artefacts thanks to true RGB laser technology.
Completing its core feature set, each projector offers a refresh rate of 240 Hz per eye and an integrated smear reduction system, ensuring precise reproduction even in the most demanding fast-motion scenes.
The P20 is fully compatible with the Norxe Unify software platform, enabling centralised control and access to a wide range of functions for the installation, management and monitoring of any number of projectors.
