Tasker T43 coaxial cable for 12G-SDI, one cable with endless solutions

Since SMPTE standardized the Serial Digital Interface (SDI) in 1989, the industry has made significant progress in terms of video transmission quality and resolution.

A decade ago, 3G-SDI represented the benchmark standard in the broadcast industry. Today, however, 6G-SDI and 12G-SDI have become the new frontier, enabling professional 4K video production with higher bandwidth and performance.

Thanks to its extensive experience, Tasker has followed the evolution of these technologies, developing coaxial cables designed to support high-resolution video transmission. The company offers a range of more than twenty cable types intended for professional broadcast applications.

In this context, the Tasker T43 is presented as a coaxial cable designed for outdoor mobile use and optimized for 12G-SDI applications.

The T43 stands out for its exceptional flexibility thanks to its 26/7 AWG (0.80 mm) stranded O.F.C. (oxygen-free copper) conductor, a 4.80 mm foam PE dielectric, and double shielding. The outer jacket is available in TPV for outdoor applications or PVC for indoor use, both ensuring good flexibility and ease of handling.

The TPV jacket is suitable for rental and touring applications, offering high resistance to UV radiation, water, chemicals, and oils. In addition, the cable is flame-retardant and halogen-free, complying with current safety requirements.

Testing has demonstrated that the T43 supports the frequencies and data rates required by the latest SMPTE standards, enabling reliable 12G-SDI transmission up to 78 meters.

The cable is also available in pre-terminated versions under the code PC43CTV in lengths of 1, 3, 5, and 10 meters, as well as in pre-assembled cable reels (GT43CTV) in lengths of 50, 75, and 100 meters. Custom lengths are available upon request.

For applications requiring multiple coaxial lines within a single jacket, Tasker offers the T443, T643, and T843 multicoaxial cables, incorporating 4, 6, and 8 T43 elements respectively. These are available with an NBR (nitrile) outer jacket for outdoor use or PVC for indoor installations.
