The German event production company hell begeistert has expanded its LED lighting inventory with a large number of KL PAR FC IP luminaires from Elation Professional, following a series of successful real-world tests.
Based near Karlsruhe in southwest Germany, the company has over 30 years of experience in event lighting, stage productions, and architectural projects. This latest investment responds to the needs of theatre, trade fair, and architectural clients.
Real-world testing
The decision to expand its LED lighting inventory was made after intensive practical testing and use in several productions, where the KL PAR FC IP luminaire proved its performance under real-world conditions. The new Elation luminaires were acquired in collaboration with LMP, Elation’s distributor in Germany.
The first units were evaluated (and subsequently purchased) in the summer of 2024 with the aim of identifying a suitable solution for open-air theatre productions. Martin Bruckmayer, Managing Director of hell begeistert, explains:
For our open-air theatre productions, we were looking for a weatherproof, powerful luminaire with good colour mixing and perfect white tones. The KL PAR FC IP luminaire performed very well in this regard.

This initial application was key to the subsequent decision to expand the investment. Another key moment occurred during the production of Gaia at the Karlsruhe City Church, when the originally planned LED PAR fixtures did not deliver the expected results, making it necessary to switch to the KL units at the last minute. Bruckmayer explains: “We used the KL PAR FC IP units to bathe the church walls in blue light and found that they worked very well”. What started as an emergency solution ultimately demonstrated the fixture’s versatility, as well as its suitability for architectural applications requiring high-quality light and colour.
Sustainable transformation at Art Karlsruhe
As the technical service provider for Messe Karlsruhe, hell begeistert is responsible for rigging and lighting at Art Karlsruhe, one of the leading fairs for classical and contemporary art. This includes lighting large-scale stands, a task previously carried out using PAR 64 fixtures equipped with CP62 incandescent lamps.
The light from the CP62 is excellent: it has great punch even in halls flooded with daylight and has always met the expectations of organisers and exhibitors. However, in line with the fair’s sustainability goals, the need arose to transition to LED lighting, explains Bruckmayer.
As part of this transition, various fixtures were evaluated, including the KL PAR FC IP luminaire, which “delivered exceptional performance, so we decided to add a larger quantity to our inventory”.
Rotatable CP62-style elliptical lens
The KL PAR FC IP luminaire is a compact LED PAR fixture with IP65 rating and a 360 W RGBMA engine delivering up to 12,000 lumens. It stands out for its ability to produce saturated colours, pastel tones and precisely tunable white light, with a CRI of 92 and a TLCI of 95. Four interchangeable lenses (11°, 22°, 30°, 52°) expand its applications, enabling use as key, fill, or area lighting.

For hell begeistert, in addition to output and colour reproduction, the interchangeable lens system is a key feature, particularly the rotatable CP62-style elliptical lens. “We love this lens”, emphasises Bruckmayer. “As far as we know, no other manufacturer offers anything like it”.
Previous experience with Elation
This investment builds on previous experience with Elation products, such as the SIXPAR 100 and SIXPAR 200 IP, which impressed the hell begeistert team with their reliability and performance.
We previously used SIXPAR luminaires and were very satisfied with them. When they reached the end of their lifespan, we temporarily switched to another manufacturer because Elation did not have a suitable alternative in its portfolio at the time. All the more reason to be pleased that the KL PAR FC IP luminaire is now available: a powerful, highly versatile LED solution with excellent colour rendering, says Bruckmayer.
Future applications
With this significant investment in KL PAR FC IP luminaires, hell begeistert is well positioned to address a wide range of applications in theatre, trade fairs, architecture, and stage productions, relying on a fixture that has already proven itself in multiple scenarios.
