Shure introduced new solutions that offer scalability and flexibility for its top-tier wireless systems. The launches include the ANX4 wireless receiver, designed to cost-effectively maximize the number of channels in a single device.
The innovations include:
- ANX4 Scalable Wireless Receiver: This high-performance, high-channel-count wireless receiver is Shure’s first to offer channel scalability—supporting up to 16 channels for Axient® Digital or 24 channels for ULX-D® in a single device via licenses. The ANX4 hardware will be available by the end of 2025 through authorized Shure distributors. Channel licenses can be purchased through authorized distributors or on Shure’s official website.
- Channel Expansion and New Transmission Mode for Axient Digital® PSM: Channel expansion capability and a new standard transmission mode will be available for Axient Digital PSM as a firmware update, via ShureCloud or Shure Update Utility. Channel licenses can be purchased through authorized distributors or on Shure’s official website.
- Channel Scalability: Add up to 12 stereo audio channels for the ADTQ quad transmitter and 6 for the ADTD dual transmitter—resulting in a total of 16 and 8 stereo channels, respectively. Channel licenses can be purchased through authorized distributors or on Shure’s official website.
- Axient Digital Standard Transmission Mode: Enables ADTQ and ADTD transmitters to send wireless audio to multiple Axient Digital microphone receivers, expanding long-range and high-power audio transmission capabilities.
- ULX-D Wide-Tuning Solutions: The new transmitters and receivers, launching in late 2025, provide expanded frequency ranges and broader geographic usability for the acclaimed ULX-D wireless system. These new ULX-D Wide-Tuning components are compatible with the ANX4 scalable digital wireless receiver.
Once channel licenses are acquired for ANX4 or Axient Digital PSM, users can activate and reassign them across compatible hardware units via ShureCloud. For example, an audio professional can deploy ANX4 channel licenses to any number of ANX4 receivers, and similarly deploy Axient Digital PSM channels with licenses across any number of Axient Digital PSM transmitters. This flexibility allows users to move wireless channels without changing their hardware, making it easier to meet the demanding needs of large-scale, high-channel-count productions.

ANX4 scalable wireless receiver
The ANX4 is a scalable device that works with Axient Digital or ULX-D and supports all available transmitter options within those platforms. It ships with no preconfigured wireless channels and can be activated to support any number of channels—up to its maximum capacity—via ShureCloud. This innovative design allows users to purchase exactly the number of channel licenses they need and use them across multiple ANX4 hardware units, providing unmatched flexibility for high-channel-count productions. Available in both AC- and DC-powered versions, the ANX4 supports a wide tuning range from 174 MHz to 2 GHz and includes two pairs of antenna inputs, each tunable up to 72 MHz wide.
This single-rack receiver maximizes efficiency by reducing space and heat while offering a cost-effective solution for large channel counts without compromising existing Axient Digital and ULX-D features. It’s ideal for rental companies, fixed installations, and field audio engineers, reducing the rack space and weight typically required for high-channel-count wireless setups.
Enhanced connectivity options for the ANX4 include four Ethernet and four coaxial antenna inputs for optimized configuration without the need for additional antenna distribution gear. ANX4 also features a large 6.6-inch front panel color display, compatibility with all ULX-D and Axient Digital frequency bands, Dante/AES67 outputs, and a ¼-inch headphone jack on the front panel for convenient monitoring. ANX4 also supports network control via Shure Wireless Workbench® for comprehensive remote RF monitoring and management.
The ANX4 hardware will be available in late 2025 through authorized Shure distributors. Channel licenses are required to operate the ANX4 and can be purchased through authorized distributors or on the official Shure website.
Channel expansion for AD PSM and standard transmission mode
Since its debut last year, Axient Digital PSM has become an award-winning solution within Shure’s Axient Digital wireless ecosystem. The new firmware update, available via ShureCloud or Shure Update Utility, continues Shure’s commitment to advancing the industry with innovative and scalable solutions. The two major updates include:
- Channel Expansion: Axient Digital PSM transmitters can be upgraded with expanded channel capacity using wideband multichannel audio system (WMAS) support—allowing up to 16 stereo audio channels for the ADTQ quad transmitter and eight for the ADTD dual transmitter. This expansion minimizes rack space and weight while providing new options to tailor the system for various applications. Channel expansion is available through license purchases in one- to four-channel increments. Licenses can be purchased through authorized distributors or on the official Shure website.
- Axient Digital Standard Transmission Mode (point-to-point): Delivers high-level wireless audio at much greater distances when needed, using ADTQ and ADTD Axient Digital PSM transmitters to send wireless audio to Axient Digital wireless microphone receivers, including the AD4Q and AD4D rack receivers. The ADTQ and ADTD provide superior long-distance wireless audio due to their higher RF output power compared to standard Axient Digital bodypack transmitters.
ULX-D Wide Tuning wireless system
The new ULX-D Wide Tuning system includes transmitters and receivers with expanded frequency bands—up to 166 MHz wide (region-dependent)—offering audio professionals the flexibility to use ULX-D components in more locations nationwide, with fewer frequency bands to manage.
Availability of the ULX-D wide tuning range varies globally based on regional regulatory requirements:
- In the United States: up to 138 MHz
- In Europe and Latin America: up to 166 MHz
- In other countries: subject to individual regulatory requirements
The updated ULX-D Wide Tuning system components include:
- ULXD1 bodypack transmitter
- ULXD2 handheld transmitter
- ULXD4D dual-channel receiver
- ULXD4Q quad-channel receiver
The new ULX-D Wide-Tuning components are compatible with the ANX4 scalable digital wireless receiver. Previous ULX-D transmitters will work with wide-tuning receivers. Similarly, traditional ULX-D band receivers will work with the new wide-tuning transmitters, as long as frequency ranges match.
ULX-D Wide Tuning wireless system components will begin shipping in late 2025.
