After becoming one of the most important clubs in Ibiza, Spain, famous for its colossal pool parties, its lineup of international DJs, and its legendary champagne shows, O Beach has just opened its doors in Dubai’s JBR district, bringing to the emirate that never sleeps everything that made it famous in the Mediterranean.
Owned by the IMI Group, O Beach is open seven days a week until the early hours of the morning, dazzling its audience with fully immersive entertainment shows and unparalleled performances.
Given the magnitude of the project, a powerful sound system was required. The management of the IMI Group, aiming to faithfully match the spectacular level achieved in Ibiza, wished to once again rely on DAS Audio’s sound systems.

Challenge
The venue, which covers more than 5,000 m², has indoor and outdoor spaces, including luxury cabanas and VIP show beds, a pool measuring nearly 400 m², and an exclusive elevated restaurant offering 360º views of the beach. At the epicenter of the pool is the main DJ booth, framed by LED screens.
The experience at our beach club goes far beyond the ordinary, as there are countless shows in its various areas. A huge crane hangs over the pool, dropping gigantic decorations and inflatables. Everything is designed with the show in mind.
In addition to the challenging characteristics of a venue this size, this installation also had to address the challenge of the location and noise pollution. O Beach is an open-air venue next to the beach, so the installed equipment needed to withstand Dubai’s sunny and hot days as well as the humid, salty air of a maritime environment. To add even more difficulty, the beach club is located near hotels and apartment blocks, so the sound design had to carefully consider the neighbors’ rest and tranquility. Providing an unforgettable sound experience without disturbing the peaceful ambiance of the area was quite a challenge.

Solution
The choice of SARA systems proved to be the ideal solution. After impressing thousands of attendees, international artists, and even the owners of O Beach Ibiza, these line arrays from the ARA series offered everything required for an installation of this kind.
The owners, clients, and guests were very pleased with the DAS system in Ibiza. When they decided to come here, we worked with DAS on the possibility of installing a similar system in Dubai. We are very proud that SARA is being used for the first time both in the region and at a beach club here, says Anro Schroeder, Procom Middle East.
The audio for the main dance floor is primarily delivered by twenty-eight WR-320 DXW line array systems, reinforced in the low end by six SARA-SUB-W subwoofers and a WR-218S-DXW dedicated to the dance floor. Several ARTEC series systems provide the additional fill that’s needed.
"The use of the SARA subwoofers, which are cardioid, arose from O Beach’s need to prevent the sound from spreading to nearby residences. On the one hand, they seek optimal, high-quality sound inside the venue, but on the other, they also keep the neighbors’ rest in mind”, adds Schroeder.
A total of 19 ARTEC-508-W units ensure full coverage of the cabanas and the 360º restaurant, combined with 4 ARTEC-S15-W. Meanwhile, 24 DECO-8-T-W deliver the best music to the changing rooms and bathrooms. All the systems were chosen in a pure white finish so they blend perfectly with the venue’s aesthetics. The entire setup is networked via Dante.
Conclusion
The result is a highly linear directional system that takes noise propagation into account. This was very important to meet the requirements of both the owners and the surrounding businesses. The entire system works in harmony as a single solution in a very large area, offering exceptional clarity and impressive acoustic power. It met all the necessary requirements for weather resistance, cardioid configuration, dispersion, and SPL levels, says Schroeder.
On the other hand, the IMI Group confirms they have achieved their goal of bringing the best sound atmosphere from Ibiza to the emirate. “We are incredibly happy with the results achieved here thanks to the DAS Audio sound system”, concludes Duane Lineker. “The directional control at all frequencies is amazing, and the cardioid subwoofers really help keep the sound inside the club, minimizing the acoustic impact on the area. In the last three years, we have installed new DAS Audio sound systems in two venues in Ibiza and Dubai, and in both cases we’ve reduced noise emissions to neighbors and surrounding areas.
