Production Resource Group (PRG) and SGM Lighting have announced an exclusive distribution partnership in Japan: since October 28, 2026, PRG is the exclusive distributor of SGM's entertainment lighting portfolio in the country.

The agreement gives lighting designers, production companies and venues in Japan a single source for SGM fixtures, backed by PRG's technical expertise. PRG will work closely with SGM to grow the brand's presence in the market.

The SGM portfolio in Japan

SGM Lighting develops professional lighting solutions with a strong focus on functionality, simplicity and distinctive design, combining advanced technology with long-term reliability and user-centred development. Its portfolio includes the PALCO family, recently extended with PALCO Z-FX, and the newly launched GENIO Series, with more products due in early 2027.

For PRG, the partnership is a natural extension of its commitment to investing in high-quality technology and giving customers access to a broad portfolio of professional production solutions.

What both companies say

“We are honored to be chosen as SGM’s exclusive distributor for the entertainment segment in Japan and excited about what lies ahead. The partnership brings together SGM’s innovative and reliable technology with PRG’s experience, market knowledge and close relationships with customers across the Japanese entertainment industry,” says John Swain, CEO of PRG APAC.

“We are delighted to welcome PRG as our exclusive partner for entertainment lighting in Japan. PRG shares our commitment to quality and service, and their team’s expertise and relationships across the Japanese industry make them the ideal partner to introduce more designers and productions to SGM. We look forward to building our presence in Japan together, with our PALCO family, the new GENIO Series and much more to come,” adds Jesse Lilley, CEO of SGM Lighting.
